engineer/producer: james gammon

James is a recent graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Music and Philosophy. He sang for all 4 years of college with UVA's Academical Village People, spending two of those years as music director for the group. He also served as recording engineer for AVP's last album, titled "Scantily Plaid." This album received a 4.7 out of 5 from the Recorded A Cappella Review Board (www.rarb.org) where one reviewer called it "the new highlight in my collection." In addition, the first track from that album, "Kate," was selected for the 2004 annual Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) compilation CD.

More recently, James has recorded and worked with the UVA Sil'hooettes, James Madison University Low Key and Madison Project, Clemson University Take Note and Impulse, University of Georgia Noteworthy, and University of Richmond Octaves. He has extensive experience arranging for a cappella and is well-versed in the latest contemporary studio techniques.

In addition to his a cappella experience, James is also an accomplished composer. His piece "Overture for Orchestra" was recently premiered by the Charlottesville and University Symphony Orchestra at their 30th Anniversary Concert, to wide acclaim.
